Matching Grant Operational Manual 2024
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) on behalf of the Borrower will channel the MGF proceeds to the ultimate Project Beneficiaries through the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) at the Belize Social Investment Fund (BSIF), which will administer the MGF on behalf of MAFSE. The detailed terms and conditions for the implementation of the MGF are provided in this Matching Grant Operations Manual (MGOM) and in the PFI Agreements to be signed between the BSIF PIU and each eligible project PFI.

Window 1
Smallholder farmers will provide matching grants in the amount
of 60 percent of the CSA Investment cost, with a maximum limit of US$6,000 per beneficiary or 40% beneficiary
contribution & 60% Grant portion
Window 2 Medium and Large Farmers and/or Farmers Organizations will provide matching grants in the amount of 30
percent of the CSA Investment, not exceeding US$30,000 per beneficiary or 70% Beneficiary contribution & 30% grant portion
CSA Application
The MGP will Finance:
a) sustainably increasing agricultural productivity, to support equitable increases in farm incomes, food security, and development,
b) adapting to and building the resilience of agricultural and food security systems to climate change at multiple levels, and
c) reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture (including crops, livestock, and fisheries)
