The Govenment of Belize has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Climate Resilient Infrastructure Project, and intended to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for Rehabilitation of the Philip Goldson Highway (Miles 8.25 to 19.25) and the Mexico Creek Bridge at Mile 20, Belize District, Belize:
Lot 1: Rehabilitation of the section from International Airport Junction in Ladyville (Mile 8.25) to Barrel Boom Junction (Mile 15.4); and
Lot 2: Rehabilitation of the section from Burrell Boom Junction (Mile 15.4) to Old Northern Highway Junction (Mile 19.25) and retrofitting works to the Mexico Creek Bridge located at mile 20.8.
Upon consultation with the project counterparts and the World Bank and in accordance with ITB Clause 38, the above bidding process was annulled because of the following reason:
The financing for this procurement is no longer available as the CRIP loan has been restructured and funds initially earmarked for road infrastructure is now diverted for emergency expenditure caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
All bids that may be received after issuance of this notice will be promptly returned unopened to the bidders.
We apologize for any inconveniencies caused and thank you for your interest in this procurement.
