Goals and Objectives of SIF


  • Provide community-based sustainable solutions to the social and economic problems of the poor
  • Improve the mechanism for targeting the allocation of resources to the poorest rural and urban communities
  • Enhance the SIF investments in human capital and social services
  • Enhance the direct short-term impact of SIF projects
  • Enhance the sustainability of SIF projects
  • Provide leadership in the national response to poverty
  • Achieve higher levels of operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • To provide resources to communities for community-based projects which address their social and economic needs
  • To develop and deliver basic services and infrastructure to the poor and needy through NGO/community organizations and other local agencies
  • To finance small-scale projects such as basic infrastructure, health, education, water and sanitation, social services and income generating activities
