BMDP is financed by a loan from the World Bank to the Government of Belize in the amount of USD 15.0 million ($30 million equivalent) ,a counterpart contribution of $0.8 million (USD $0.4) by the Government of Belize, and an estimated $0.6 million (USD $0.3) of co-financing from participating Town and City Councils.  The total project budget for BMDP is $31.5 million (USD 15.7 million).
